Holiday Gift Ideas
So the holidays are just around the corner, thanksgiving has passed and in Holland we’re all getting ready for ‘Sinterklaas’. Holidays are all about spending time with your family and friends and eating loads of delicious food. We’re all reminded of how lucky we are and a lot of people also decide to start ‘giving back’ to people less fortunate. Another thing that naturally comes with the holidays are presents. And even though I love giving gifts, it can be a struggle to find something suiting for everybody. So this year we’ve gathered some fun gift ideas to help you out!
First we have a little list of gift ideas for you to buy for your family and friends.
A nice blanket • So soft, cosy and always a good idea. Need we say more?
Laptop or phone case • For that friend who has multiple heart attacks a day because they drop their phone literally everywhere.
A record: if they have a record player • I mean, if you want to make that music-crazy friend smile? This is the way to do it.
Fairy lights & tapestry • Or something else to decorate their room or space. Find something that’ll suit their style!
Subscription box • Subscription boxes are somewhat of a new thing, but so awesome! There is literally a subscription box for everyone. Ipsy and Birchbox are beauty related. There’s an SketchBox for the creative type and there are boxes especially for men. Even bookboxes, paperboxes and lifestyleboxes are an option. Enough to choose from!
Water bottle • Get someone a nice water bottle, so that they don’t have to bring that plastic bottle everywhere anymore. Give them a S’well bottle, a Dopper or a fruit infuser bottle. You can also give them a bottle to bring their nice hot coco, coffee or tea in.
Poster of a band or a thing they love • Does it need any explanation?
A ridiculous Christmas sweater • I mean..
Bluetooth speaker • You can find the most awesome speakers nowadays! I guarantee you it’ll make them happy.
Take them somewhere •
What’s a better gift than an awesome experience? Buy them a ticket to a concert or an event. Depending on how much money you want to spent, you can even take them on a little trip.
Also a great idea: buy them one of those train tickets that you can use to travel everywhere in a day. Go to the train station and let them roll the dice. Whatever number it ends up on, you’ll have to take the next train that comes on that track!
To do it yourself (for the creative type)
Gifts don’t have to cost a lot of money. The best gifts are usually the ones that are personal. So for the creative ones: we got some ideas for you to create yourself!
Cookies in a jar
I’m sure you’ve seen them around. Those jars filed with ingredients! Take matters into your own hands and fill the jar with the ingredients of your favorite cookies or pastries. Add a cute ribbon and a tag with the recipe!
Two of my best friends gave me a personal book with pictures of us of the past year. And let me tell you, I loved it! So if you want to cherish your memories with someone, get crafty! Buy a book, print some pictures and stick it all in. You can write out some of your favorite memories and decorate it the way you like it!
52 reasons why I like you
This awesome little gift is basically a little book, made up out of a deck of cards. Every card has a little something to say, usually a reason why you like or love someone. All you need is: a deck of cards, hole puncher, paper, glue, scissors, embellishments, a ribbon and 52 reasons.
You can print little photos to add a personal touch to each card. And you can use the Joker to make a front and back cover. Write something on every card or decorate it the way you like. Punch holes in the left side of the card and bind them all together using the ribbon to create a little book!
This is not only a great idea for the holidays, but also for anniversaries, mothers day and valentines day.
We hope that we gave you some inspiration for the holidays! Let us know what your favorite gift ideas are!
